Helis.com: W139 outstanding trials results obtained recently in Pakistan (25 July 2016) – Leonardo-Finmeccanica announced today that the AgustaWestland AW139 intermediate twin-engine helicopter showed outstanding hot and high altitude performance and mission capabilities during recent trials in Pakistan, reached on a ferry flight from Italy.

HeliHub: Bristow launches SAR AW139 in Nigeria (22 June 2016) – Bristow Helicopters (Nigeria) Limited announced a new dedicated helicopter rescue and recovery (RRS) service for Nigeria’s oil and gas industry to provide critical life-saving assistance currently not available in the country’s aviation landscape. The new service is expected to launch in August 2016.

HeliHub: NJ State Police and STARS sign long-term AW139 training contracts (19 November 2015) – Signing a five year training contract, helicopter emergency medical services provider STARS, operating three AW139s throughout Western Canada, is extending its agreement with AgustaWestland to provide recurrent training for its AW139 pilots. A non-profit helicopter air ambulance organization that provides rapid and specialized emergency care and transportation for critically ill and injured patients, STARS operates from bases in Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie and Winnipeg.

HeliHub: AW139 Fleet Leader Passes 10,000 Flight Hours Milestone (3 March 2015) – AgustaWestland announced today that CHC Helicopter’s AW139 fleet leader has set a major operational milestone by reaching 10,000 flight hours. This significant milestone was achieved by the aircraft in less than nine years, making it the global fleet leading AW139.  The helicopter is operating from CHC’s Den Helder base in The Netherlands, performing its missions in the North Sea with almost 29,000 landings to date.

Flight Safety Australia: ‘World-class’ AW139 training sim coming to Brisbane (20 January 2015) – Australia’s first AgustaWestland 139 civil helicopter training centre is due to open in Brisbane next year, providing a world-class training facility for Australian operators of the modern twin-engine helicopter. The AW139 has taken on offshore, aeromedical and executive transport roles since the first of 15 currently flying here joined the Australian register in 2007.
